Salt Lake County Emergency Management

Salt Lake County Emergency Management is run through the Unified Fire Authority through a 50-year charter that was created in 2004.  All responsibilities of preparation, planning, mitigation and response fall to Salt Lake County Emergency Management.

With Salt Lake County Emergency Management, the Fire Chief of Unified Fire Authority—Chief Dan Petersen—is the actual Emergency Manager of Salt Lake County.  His designee is Battalion Chief Clint Mecham.  The responsibility for Emergency Management of all 18 cities, and the five metro-townships, within Salt Lake County (with Unincorporated Salt Lake County being considered a 19th) fall under this delegation.
