The Salt Lake County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) exists pursuant to 42 United States Code Section 1101 and Utah Code Annotated 63-5-5 and consists of 13 municipalities and more than 400 businesses.

    • Recycle Fluorescent lights

    Fluorescent lights help reduce the pollution associated with energy production, but if not disposed of properly flourescent lights can pose an environmental problem. Flourescent lights contain about 5 mg of Mercury sealed within the glass tubing. Do your part by recycling your flourescent lighting rather than throwing it in the trash.
